Striving Hard

Half of the year has passed & we have willingly confined ourselves to our homes. We are not going to the Masjid’s anymore; this year has been the most trying time that we are all going through together. Similarly, due to the lack of engagement with your close peers and relatives could be hard to believe and spend time alone. Reading the number of deaths that are increasing every single day must be quite depressing for all of us. Therefore, we all must be carrying varied emotions as well as feelings.

As a Muslim believer, we have full conviction about the decree of Allah (SWT) i.e. this was pre-written by Allah (SWT). Also, we should have a strong belief that all the things that happen in our life have a pearl of great wisdom that we only recognize later.

The Prophet (SAW) said- "(Death from) plague is martyrdom for every Muslim." {Sahih Muslim}

We all are going through a phase where we are virtually connecting ourselves with our colleagues/teachers willingly or unwillingly. Somehow, we should be grateful that at least life is not stuck for us, we are still moving on and time is passing in some way. Despite the free time that we have, it is very easy to fall into the trap of procrastination and be lazy in the activities that we perform every day. To avoid that it is important for us to hold onto a routine and maintain a life that revolves around the basic commandments of Allah that make us Muslims.

Happiness was never achieved by hanging around with friends or fulfilling our desires in a negative way. In our leisure time we must ponder and introspect about life and what have we put forth for the Afterlife. Your happiness is not defined by the short-term pleasures that you attain, but rather the long term contentment that you get on performing a good deed or helping an individual. No matter how much we try to fulfill ourselves by the latest gadgets or brands, the heart would only find peace in the remembrance of its Creator.

The Prophet (SAW) said- “Richness does not lie in the abundance of (worldly) goods but richness is the richness of the soul (heart, self).”{Sahih Muslim}

It's not like that you cannot enjoy this life or by being a practicing Muslim you have to abandon this life and its pleasures. We must enjoy this worldly life but within the limits of Allah. However, be aware and remind yourself over and over again that this life is a passing enjoyment and this shall one day fade away. Let’s not be too busy in this world and remember these deaths are indeed a reminder for all of us. It is the truth and we are truly to return to our Lord.

The Prophet (SAW) said- "Increase in remembrance of the severer of pleasures." Meaning death. (Sahih Muslim)

The Prophet (SAW) drew a few lines and said, "This is (man's) hope, and this is the instant of his death, and while he is in this state (of hope), the nearer line (death) comes to Him." (Sahih Muslim)

Our vision for next life should be greater and clearer, and then we should strive hard for the glitters of Jannah because that’s what will be worth all your sacrifice & at the end that will be our final abode with our spouses by the Majestic Will of God. Therefore, uphold your faith now, your state of death would be relieving.
